The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has set a new destination of this year’s Thailand Travel Mart Plus Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion (TTM+) 2018 to be held in Pattaya under the theme of “Million Shades of Romance”, which will be held between 13-15 June, 2018, at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club.
Every year, Dan Sai district in Loei province in Thailand’s Northeastern Region, or Isan, stages a colourful event known as ‘Bun Luang’ or ‘Bun Pawat’ and the famous Phi Ta Khon Festival. This is a unique celebration of the province and the colourful processions and masked villagers ensure that a large number of visitors come to the little village to enjoy the three-day fun.
But few travellers think that Bangkok and Thailand would probably have one of the richest European architectural heritages in Southeast Asia. Many would even wonder how it could be possible in a country that was never colonised.
These include festivities in Samut Prakan, Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Chon Buri, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai, Lampang, Nakhon Phanom, Nong Khai, Khon Kaen, Phuket, and Songkhla with event dates varying, with some starting as early as 7 April and running until 20 April.
